Joe Shannon is a musician and the founder and executive director of Mountainhome
Music, which honors the musicians, dancers, storytellers, and poets of the Appalachian
region. This organization has produced over 127 concerts, 34 of which have aired on
regional educational television and 45 of which have aired on public radio. He lives in
Boone, North Carolina.
