Miss Mary
Elizabeth "Toddy" Collins came from Cambridgeshire, England to
the United States with her father and her four siblings after the death
of her mother in 1875. The Collins family settled in Crab Point, North
Carolina, where Miss Collins remained until she heard the calling of the
Lord to become a Missionary. After attending Missionary School in Nyack,
New York, in 1905, Miss Collins went to Roda, Virginia, where she
remained until her death in December 1947. Miss Collins acquired the
name of Miss Toddy, "The Angel of Happy Hollow."
