Michael Chitwood
A native of the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, near Rocky Mount, Michael Chitwood is the author of seven books of poetry, including Salt Works, Whet, The Weave Room, Still, and From Whence. His poetry and fiction have appeared in Poetry, Ohio Review, The Southern Review, and The Virginia Quarterly Review, among other publications. He is a commentator for WUNC public radio in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, a teacher of writing, and a columnist for The Independent, an alternative newspaper in Durham, North Carolina. He lives in Chapel Hill with his wife, Jean, and their two children.
