Allen de Hart

Allen de Hart, author of Trails of the TriangleAllen de Hart is the author of nine books and trail guides for West Virginia, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Florida, and the Georgia sea islands. In 2006, REI awarded him their National Environmental Stewardship award for founding the Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. He has hiked over 53,000 miles in 46 states and 18 foreign countries. He lives near Louisburg, N.C., where he and his wife created the De Hart Botanical Gardens.
