Helen Kraus

Helen Kraus & Anne SpaffordHelen Kraus earned her BS, MS, and PhD degrees in horticultural science from North Carolina State University, where she currently teaches. Her research interests include best management practices, including irrigation management and compost utilization for the containerized plant production nursery industry. Dr. Kraus’s real passion is teaching and working with students. She has taught a variety of classes including Nursery Management and Tree and Grounds Management; but her favorite teaching subject is Principles of Horticulture, which includes an introduction to plant growth and environmental influence on plant growth as well as environmentally responsible gardening practices. She lives in Cary, North Carolina.
