Bill Morris

Bill MorrisBill Morris has lived and written in Chapel Hill and Durham for the past eighteen years. He now splits time between the Triangle and Down East Carteret County, the setting for his novel Saltwater Cowboys. A story adapted from this novel, “Dinah’s Dog,” won the 2003 Doris Betts Prize for Short Fiction. Other stories have been published in Real Fiction, The Dead Mule, Urban Hiker, Spectator, and Best of the O. Henry Festival 2003. Morris, a graduate of Duke University, is also a regular contributor to Our State magazine, Wildlife in North Carolina, and the Raleigh News & Observer outdoors pages. He is currently at work on a second Down East novel.
