Dale Neal Dale Neal is a graduate of the MFA program for writers at Warren Wilson College. Neal was raised in Winston-Salem, where he attended Wake Forest University. He has been a fellow at the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism at the University of Maryland and a Gralla fellow in Jewish Studies for journalists at Brandeis University. He now lives in Asheville, North Carolina, where he works full-time as the science and technology writer for the Asheville Citizen-Times, where he has won numerous press awards over the past twenty years. Cow Across America is his first novel and the winner of the 2009 Novello Literary Award.
