Don O'Briant
Don O’Briant is a former book editor and feature writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where he worked for over 30 years. A native of South Carolina and a graduate of Clemson University, he is a past president of the Southern Book Critics Circle. He is the author of seven books, including Backroad Buffets & Country Cafes; Travel Smart: Georgia; and Looking for Tara: A Gone with the Wind Guide to Margaret Mitchell’s Atlanta. O’Briant had his 15 minutes of fame on March 11, 2005, when he was carjacked by convicted courthouse killer Brian Nichols. During that week, he appeared on Good Morning America, Today on NBC, CNN News, Nancy Grace, and Larry King Live. He currently lives in Lilburn, Georgia, where he is a member of Sisters in Crime and the Atlanta Press Club.
