Charles Edwin Price
An Appalachian native, Charles Edwin Price was born in 1941. He served in the United States Air Force and wrote for a small newspaper in Kansas and major dailies in the Baltimore–Washington area. Later in life, he specialized as a freelance writer in Southern Appalachian folklore, ghostlore, and local history. A graduate of East Tennessee State University, Price taught writing seminars, produced folklore segments for National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered,” and documentaries. He is now deceased.
