Norman Seider

Norman Seider, photographer of Opening ScenesNorman R. Seider, Emeritus Professor of Film, Long Island University, was a documentary filmmaker before he embraced photography. His films and photographs are in the permanent collections of major museums and collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York City; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design; Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; Galerie Chateau D’Eau Museum of Photography, Toulouse; and Leica Camera AG. Seider photographs extensively in less-traveled locations near and far. His first book of photographs, Odyssey: Patagonia to the Antarctic, was awarded Best Pictorial Book at the 2005 New England Book Show. He and his wife Rhoda live among the bears and the deer in rural northwestern New Jersey, in the lee of the Kittatinny Mountains.
