Scott Taylor
Scott Taylor spent most of his youth in Cleveland, Ohio. Every summer his family would enjoy a month with his great aunt, Ann Brown, in the family home by the post office in Beaufort, North Carolina, before the days of air conditioning and streetlights. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill gave Taylor his formal education, but summers still belonged to Beaufort. Following a three-year stint at The Chapel Hill News, he accepted a job as photographer at the Duke University Marine Laboratory in Beaufort in 1981. Taylor completed his Duke career as assistant director of communications in the summer of 2000. He currently operates Scott Taylor Photography, Inc. out of his gallery in Beaufort. Time permitting, he can be found plying the waters of coastal North Carolina in search of a fresh layer of salt spray on his lens.
Scott Taylor’s work appears in a wide range of publications from books to magazines such as Coastwatch, NC Boating Lifestyle, Our State, and Wildlife in North Carolina among others. His fine art prints hang in galleries and private collections throughout the country.
