Blanche W. Floyd

Blanche W. Floyd was the author of Tales Along the Grand Strand of South CarolinaTales Along the King’s Highway of South Carolina, and Ghostly Tales and Legends Along the Grand Strand of South Carolina. She was born in Marion, South Carolina, and grew up in the Low Country. She and her husband J. K. lived in Myrtle Beach for over 50 years and have three children. Blanche received her Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College, and her Master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. She taught history in Myrtle Beach schools until 1980. Her articles appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers, and she wrote a column for The Sun News. She passed away in 2008.
