Zebordee,
the ant, dreamed of being a winner in the Annual Race Car Competition. He
worked hard in getting his car ready for the race and making sure that his
car meets all the race car rules. Miss Cori Jake, Zebordee’s dear
friend, told Zebordee that a true winner plays fair. The race began and
Zebordee drove his car as fast as he could only to come second behind
Theodore Neanderthal. Even though he was disappointed, Zebordee heartily
congratulated Theodore, the winner of the race. It turned out, however,
that Theodore did not play fair and his car was disqualified from the
competition making Zebordee the winner of the race. about the author and illustrator Ann Goode Cooper is a retired elementary school teacher.
