Frye Gaillard

Frye Gaillard is writer in residence at the University of South Alabama and author of more than twenty books, including Cradle of Freedom: Alabama and the Movement That Changed America, which won the Lillian Smith Award for non-fiction, and Watermelon Wine: The Spirit of Country Music. Gaillard has also received the Clarence Cason Award for Non-Fiction and the Alabama Library Association Book of the Year Award. He lives just south of Mobile, Alabama, with his wife, Nancy.
