Zippert has lived in Greene County, Alabama, for many years.
Zippert has used her Ph.D in education to lift her community by serving
as a college teacher, president of a community-based college, and a
county school board member. She and her spouse, John Zippert,
publish a community newspaper, the Greene County Democrat.
