Quinn Dalton

Quinn Dalton was born in South Carolina, moved to Ohio for high school and college at Kent State, then came back to the South for an MFA at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Over the years, she has sold cameras, ladies shoes, water filters, antiques, her wedding dress and an old van. She’s worked as a waiter, bartender, fundraiser, teacher, freelance writer and spindoctor, all of which continue to be a good source of material. Her stories have appeared in anthologies and in literary magazines, including One StoryGlimmer Train and The Kenyon Review. Her articles and essays on publishing and the writing craft have appeared in Poets & Writers, The Writer, and

She’s the author of a novel, High Strung, and two story collections, Bulletproof Girl and Stories from the Afterlife. Her fourth book, a novel, is forthcoming from Carolina Wren Press in February 2016.

Stories from her first collection, Bulletproof Girl, have been anthologized in Glimmer Train’s Where Love is Found: 24 Tales of Connection and in Hourglass Books’ Peculiar Pilgrims. “The Music Your Never Hear” from her second collection, Stories from the Afterlife, was included in New Stories from the South: The Year’s Best, 2006. She lives in Greensboro with her husband and two daughters
